Laurel Burch Inspired Cat Collage
I love the whimsical style of Laurel Burch's cats. She creates colorful, folk-art style cats filled with pattern. Instead of painting or drawing the cats, we will be making a cat collage with a drawn and stamped pattern. Here is what we will need for this project:
Tempera Paint Sticks
Stamps and Stamp pad
Marker or Pencil
First fold your paper in half and draw half of the cat's head. Then cut on the line while the paper is folded.
When you open up the paper, it should look something like this.
Decorate the paper with patterns using the tempera sticks and stamps.
Draw football shapes on the white paper and cut them out. These are going to be the eyes.
Draw a large circle and two small circles on one of the colored papers. Then draw and arrow shape on a different colored piece of paper. Cut all of them out.
Cut long strips of black paper for the whiskers and shorter strips of paper for the eye lashes.
Assembled all the pieces and glue them on. Last, draw on the cat's mouth. Now your done!
