My whole life has been involved with art in one form or another. I received my BFA in Art Studio from the University of Kentucky and my MA in Art Education from Eastern Kentucky University. For over ten years, I have taught art in public and private schools, as well as classes through CREATE studio. My greatest joy is inspiring others. I am passionate about cultivating a studio environment where students can freely express themselves, think critically, and grow in their creative knowledge and confidence.
When I started CREATE studio in 2017, I dreamed of place where children could invent and learn through play and exploration. I wanted to provide kids with the freedom to make their own creative choices and work at their own pace. Through the years, CREATE has inspired and encouraged hundreds of kids. When CREATE moved to Woodland Avenue in 2022, I wanted it to not only be space for artistic creativity, but also a magical a family experience. Today, CREATE is beautiful, bright, colorful happy place for families to imagine, play, and have fun together.
Outside CREATE, I enjoy spending time with my husband James and three kids. I love traveling with my family, making art, and hunting for vintage treasures.

In 2006, I graduated from the University of Kentucky with BFA in studio art focused in painting. During my time at UK I also developed a love and respect for drawing, mixed media, printmaking, and fiber arts. I have been working with Create Studio since 2018 when I fell in love with teaching kids in an open, child-lead environment. When I'm not having fun making awesome art with kids at the studio, I enjoy being outside, doing yoga, making my own art, and spending time with my husband and daughter, Sylvia.
